I’VE RETURNED (for good this time).

Hellooooo everybody! Its been a bit of a while since I’ve last posted and not long enough since the last time I wrote something almost exactly on these lines but I’m back! Or at least, I have really dramatic hopes of being so because I’m terrible and horribly unorganised and we know from previous experiences exactly how I might end up.

I’m still stuck in a little of a slump but I’m slowly reading again and have a little review or two up my sleeve! Wonderfully, I’m also on a much needed school break which means heaps more reading and blogging! (as well as much needed sleep, eating and the stacking of studying).

I have a lot of hopes to exploring some more book reviews (rants and raves), all the bookish posts and hopefully some Feud of the Foods!

I’m really sorry for being gone so long but I will be back, and very soon at that! Until then, tell me all about what you’re reading! What books have you recently loved and enjoyed and do bring along a recommendation in choke-holding the slump I’m in *cries* Really excited to talk with you all again!

Series Review: a Series that has Ignited my Shattered, Unraveled Heart (Spoiler-Free!)

13455782

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Punched Through the Hiatus + Review Time – A Catch-Up on All the Feels!

Hello everybody! And a good morning/afternoon/evening to you all! Firstly before we get started, I need to apologise AGAIN. Things blogging-wise have been… not so productive to say the least *cries* I never meant to leave without a notice but time kept piling up and I realised that its been a while since I last posted.

Good news, school has almost finished killing me and my reading is coming back! I’ve read quite a few these past few weeks and I am so glad because honestly, I was afraid the book slump had swallowed me whole. I’m back with a whole lot more energy and motivation to get back into the blogging groove and really start to immerse myself in this all again because I’ve missed blogging and you all so, so much!

I’m so excited to be back, to finally let all of the feels just unleash themselves and so to allow me to start talking my mouth off completely, let’s talk about some books I’ve gotten to reading! These aren’t all the books I’ve read recently, just because I have a few that I really want to make full reviews on but this is a catch-up on some of my thoughts and feelings!

TRUTH IS I LOVE THIS TOO HARD (Truthwitch Review: 5 Stars!)

21414439.jpgIn a continent on the edge of war, two witches hold its fate in their hands.

Young witches Safiya and Iseult have a habit of finding trouble. After clashing with a powerful Guildmaster and his ruthless Bloodwitch bodyguard, the friends are forced to flee their home.

Safi must avoid capture at all costs as she’s a rare Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lies. Many would kill for her magic, so Safi must keep it hidden – lest she be used in the struggle between empires. And Iseult’s true powers are hidden even from herself.

In a chance encounter at Court, Safi meets Prince Merik and makes him a reluctant ally. However, his help may not slow down the Bloodwitch now hot on the girls’ heels. All Safi and Iseult want is their freedom, but danger lies ahead. With war coming, treaties breaking and a magical contagion sweeping the land, the friends will have to fight emperors and mercenaries alike. For some will stop at nothing to get their hands on a Truthwitch.

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books That I Thought I Loved More Than I Thought I Would!

HELLO everybody! Hope you’re all doing well! Today I felt like doing a Top Ten Tuesday post (feature created by the awesome: The Broke and The Bookish!) so here I am with it! As you can see by the title, today I’m going to be talking about books that I ended up loving more than I thought I would! Now, these books aren’t necessarily books that I loved the most and found myself surprised by, I’m going to choose books I was the most surprised by. Does that make sense? What I’m trying to say is that these books might not be favourites but they’re books that I was so surprised at how much I ended up loving it. Now enough of my rambling, let’s get on with it! By the way, note that these are in no particular order!

7 Reasons Why You Must Pick Up This Perfection (Daughter of Smoke and Bone: 5 Stars)

8490112.jpg

Around the world, black hand prints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherworldly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious “errands”, she speaks many languages – not all of them human – and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Introducing A New Blog Name and Look!

HI EVERYBODY! How have you been lately? I hope the day is treating you pleasantly and that everything is well on your end! Today I have a really exciting announcement for you guys! Its something that I’ve been hopelessly tossing for about forever forever and now that I’ve made it final to myself and am making it final completely, I can’t wait to just get all the words out! And that something is… I am changing my blog name!

I mentioned it a little in my resolution’s post but here I am with all the details AND THE ACTUAL NAME. A little backstory before we get into it about why and what it is – when I first started this blog, I didn’t really take a moment to think about my blog name and how it was going to be. I found a pretty word (embarrassingly, I typed pretty words in Google and snatched one) and mashed the idea of books into it and then called it a creation.

I received an ARC of this book as part of the Freek’s Blog Tour. This has not influenced my opinion in any way.

In a world of magical visions and pyrokinesis, Mara just wants to have a normal life. But is that possible?

Mara has become used to the extraordinary. Roaming from place to place with Gideon Davorin’s Traveling Carnival, she longs for an ordinary life where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future.

She gets her chance when the struggling sideshow sets up camp in the small town of Caudry and she meets a gorgeous local guy named Gabe. But before long, Mara realizes there’s a dark presence lurking in the town that’s threatening the lives of her friends. She has seven days to take control of a power she didn’t know she had in order to save everyone she cares about—and change the future forever.
